Fundraiser for the Benefit of Joe MacKool

As you may or may not know, Joe has endured a life-long struggle with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease. Just recently he has undergone a complete lung transplant in New York City at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. We are having this fundraiser on behalf of Joe and his family to help assist with the many expenses that such a medical procedure entails. The recovery period can be up to 2 years or more following the surgery. Information will be available online at here at www.joemackool.com that will keep you up-to-date with all that is going on with Joe and his recovery. That all said, we just want you all to know how much we appreciate your thoughts and support during this stressful time. Joe, a 2002 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, CBA is looking forward to seeing all his friends and family ASAP. Sincere thanks and gratitude

We all wish to thank eveyone who helped make Joe's fundraiser a resounding success.
All the work and effort is greatly appreciated.....from canvassing for donations, to volunteering at the event itself and everything in between. We also wish thank the many donors who gave so overwhelmingly from financial support to gifts, products and services. This total effort by family, friends and strangers alike made this fundraiser possible and successful. Again, thank you so much.

Volunteers Still Needed

For those of you that have volunteered so far you will be able to see your name, time slot and what you will be helping out with. If for any reason we missed you please contact us at volunteer@joemackool.com and we will gladly add you to the chart. For those of you who would like to volunteer just look at the chart to see where and when we could use some help and send an email to the above address with your name, preferred time and job you would like to help out with. Hopefully we can get enough so that everyone can help out for a few hours and then enjoy the fundraiser for the rest of the time. As always it is deeply appreciated and words can't say enough.

Donations, donations, donations

We are now coming down the homestretch in preparing for Joe's fundraiser.

As most of us are keenly aware, fundraisers derive the majority of their
proceeds from donations of products and services that are raffled and/or auctioned during the fundraising event itself. We have received many wonderful items to date and are very thankful to those companies, organizations and individuls who have so kindly given.

To guarantee a successful outcome for the benefit of Joe and his family, each of us
in this last week must make every effort to secure additional donations. Take an hour or two out of this week or during your normal routines to do so.

Gift certificates from your favorite restaurant, 18 holes of golf at the local country club, a day at the spa, gift cards from many of the stores and markets to name just a few.... or a laptop, bicycle, camera or MP3 player.

If you have any donations that need to be picked up or dropped off, just let us know and we will make arrangements.

Meetings are being held this week at 7:00 pm at xpedx, 6485 Ridings Rd. just off Carrier Circle Monday and Thursday evenings. We would like to get the majotity of donations in by Thursday evening.

Again, thanks to all of those who have helped thus far and thanks to those who are
helping Joe down the homestretch.

Volunteers Needed to Help at Fundraiser

Just a quick post that many volunteers are going to be needed to help out at the fundraiser for Joey. The idea is to have as many as possible so that shifts can take place such as a couple of hours of your time helping out so that everyone can help a couple of hours and then have a good time for the rest of the fundraiser. Examples of what we need volunteers for are;

* People to help sell raffle tickets.

* People to help with the food setup and serving.

* People to help bar tend.

* Runners (Can use cars and not run ;) to help bring food from the cooking building to the main Pepsi building.

* Security and volunteers to help out with many other things that will come up during the fundraiser.

Crunch Time

E is for effort...now is the time to kick it up a ... E is for effort...now is the time to kick it up a notch. Joe really needs our help and assistance. We only have 27 days and counting.
All of Joe's friends and relatives need to show some real effort in making this fundraiser a huge success. If we all do a litle a lot will get done but we need everyone's little effort. Meetings are Monday nites @ 7:00 pm. If interested we can get you details for attending or phone-in.
